My friend and I had a divine meal at Amara tonight and it was just exquisite. We loved every bit of the food very authentic, and full of taste. The service was amazing - dedicated and perceptive with recommendations and description. The atmosphere was really really lovely. We recommend this restaurant to others because it was an amazing experience.
The food was great. Tasty mango lassi, the goat curry was tender and the dosa was crispy with nice condiments. The staff here are friendly and helpful. I cannot speak on the food's authenticity but I loved it.
Excellent food and very reasonably priced. We shared a Bangalore Dosai and Palak Paneer, with a Peshawari Naan and rice as a side. The dosai was wonderful and crisp with a tasty potato filling. The paneer was wonderful. The mango lassi was beautifully presented as well as being really tasty. A nice touch was providing heated plates, so the food didn't instantly get cold when served.
Came here on the recommendation of a friend, I was delighted. The garlic naan was light and fluffy, crisp on the outside but soft and doughy on the inside with the perfect level of seasoning. The main meals were tender and flavoursome. The bite of fresh herbs like ginger in the chicken tikka made the meals very enjoyable. The service was warm and polite and the atmosphere calm and welcoming.
Truly one of the best Indian meals I've ever had, and I've eaten a LOT. The Butter Chicken was a particular hit - best ever IMO, and it's a high bar. The Lamb Rogan Josh had a good kick while not being overpowering with heat, and the Seekh Kebab (lamb sausage) had a sensational flavour balance - heat, savoury, seasoning and a little bit of sweet. The Dosa was also really excellent - nicely balanced and tasty with a great pancake. The staff are great and the setting is very pleasant. Overall it's just very high quality modern Indian. I'll be going back here again even though I'm not a local - the kind of place you'd go out of your way to have dinner.
