Amazing food, service and atmosphere! The staff looked after us and made sure we had enough of side sauces. The food reminds me of growing up in Malaysia and having Indian food at a mamak. Thank you for the dinner๐ซถ๐ผ
I recently visited this Indian restaurant (for dinner + takeaway) in the area. Hereโs how it went: Atmosphere / Crowd The place was very crowded โ almost overwhelmingly so. It felt rushed, noisy, and crammed. โ โ ยฝ/5 Service / Staff Most staff were friendly enough, but one female staff member really made the experience worse. She pretended to listen while multitasking on the phone, forced us to repeat our order multiple times, and still got parts of it wrong. To top it off, our orders didnโt arrive together โ in fact, my partnerโs food showed up just as I was finishing. โ โ /5 Food / Taste The food was just okay, bordering on bland. For the price, I expected more flavor and punch โ Iโve had better Indian food in Canberra. That said, nothing here stood out as a highlight. โ โ /5 Value / Price Relatively expensive compared to similar Indian restaurants in the area. What we got didnโt justify the cost. Overall This was a disappointing experience. The crowd, the disorganized service, and the uninspired food all added up. I canโt wholeheartedly recommend this place in its current state.
โญโญโญโญโญ (4.5/5) Chatkazz Canberra is a fantastic place for authentic Indian street food. The flavours are bold, fresh, and very close to what youโd actually find on the streets of India. We tried a variety of chaats and snacks, and everything was well-balanced with the right mix of spice, tang, and sweetness. The pani puri and chaat items were especially impressive. The menu has a great variety for vegetarians, and portions are quite generous for the price. Service was quick despite the place being busy, which shows how popular it is. The atmosphere is casual and livelyโperfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with family and friends. The only minor downside is that it can get quite crowded during peak hours, and seating can be limited, but the food more than makes up for it. Overall, a must-visit spot in Canberra if youโre craving authentic Indian street food. Highly recommended!
A very disappointing visit. Ordered a paneer briyani and mango lassi for take away. Was told it would take 10min. It in fact took 30min. This would of been fine if the quality of the food was good aswell. However this was not the case. My paneer biryani did not have in my opinion enough paneer. Refer to photo.
I ordered Paneer Chilly for $15.90, and the portion size was ridiculously small โ barely enough for a kid. To make things worse, there was hardly any actual paneer in it. Whatever they served didnโt even resemble paneer; it looked and tasted like some jelly-like substitute. It honestly made me question the freshness and quality of their ingredients โ it felt like they may have used expired paneer or something completely different. Overall, very disappointing and not worth the money. Would not recommend this place at all.
