I love dosa hut franchise (South Morang and Melb CBD) and had high hopes for Bendigo, however it was disappointment. We went for dine-in as well as takeaway. Dine-in service was good, however tandoor platter was a absolute disappointment, low in spice. We ordered Dosa and Naan which were good. Tea was amazing. Service experience went down fo takeaway. We were told there would be delay when we ordered Dosa and hence checked with after 35 mins to know that more delay would occur. During my second call I gave my phone number for intimation when ready. No call from restaurant and we tried calling after 1 h 15m of order placement but call wouldnโt connect. So went to restaurant and we were told โfood is cold and please reheat using microwaveโ. The food was ready 30 mins earlier but they failed to call. When mentioned the scenario to them, there was no apology instrad โyou should check with usโ. A request the restaurant if you canโt provide intimation at least tell customer the same on busy day. Unfortunately one of dosas ordered was burnt.
โญ 1/5 Paid $115 for 8-serve biryani and it was honestly a huge disappointment. If this is Dosa Hut Bendigo, the quality is nowhere close to what we get in Melbourne. The biryani had no real Indian flavour, the taste was flat and completely off, and overall the food didnโt feel authentic at all. For the price we paid, we expected proper spices, good aroma, and decent portion quality โ but it was awful. Definitely not worth the money. Would not recommend.
I was honestly surprised the taste, flavours, aroma, everything felt exactly like proper Indian biryani. Even though itโs in a regional area, the quality is top-notch. If you love authentic biryani, this place is a must-try.
Iโm visiting Melbourne and recently tried the Rara Chicken at Dosa Hut Bendigo โ and honestly, it was amazing! The flavours were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. What impressed me even more was their tandoori roti and garlic naan. Hands down, the best Iโve had in Australia. Soft, fresh, and full of flavour โ exactly how Indian bread should be. The service was great and the food came out hot and delicious. If youโre craving authentic Indian food, Dosa Hut Bendigo is definitely worth a visit!
A Fantastic Family Restaurant with Amazing Food (18/10/2025) I recently visited the new Dosa Hut Indian Restaurant in Bendigo on its opening night, and what a memorable experience it was. From the moment I arrived, there was a festive, Bollywood-inspired atmosphere, complete with a red carpet leading into the restaurant. The excitement was palpable, with families from all cultures coming together to celebrate this exciting addition to Bendigoโs dining scene. What stood out most was the welcoming, family-friendly vibe. Children were laughing, adults were enjoying themselves, and the whole place was alive with energy. While it was a special opening night, it was clear that this is, at its heart, a place where families will feel right at home. The restaurant layout is thoughtfully designed, with comfortable booth seating on one side and classic tables and chairs on the other, perfect for everything from casual family dinners to larger gatherings. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, with something to suit everyoneโs taste. I had already decided on my favourites, Chicken Tikka Masala and plain Naan, and they did not disappoint. The flavours were rich and authentic, and the naan had a perfect char, served warm and fresh. Both were excellent. Even though there was a short wait (as expected on such a busy night), the friendly and lively atmosphere made it a pleasure to be there. The staff did an outstanding job, and it was lovely to see family members and friends working together, truly a family-run venture. A special mention goes to the person at the counter who was managing orders and keeping everything running smoothly. He handled a big job with confidence and professionalism, a standout on the night. Dosa Hut has launched with heart, flavour, and a genuine sense of community. Iโll definitely be returning with friends and family. Best of luck to the team on this exciting new journey! โ Greg
