I had the most beautiful experience at Dosa Express, South Perth today. I asked for the vegan unlimited lunch, and honestly—it was so impressive. Every entrée was delightful, full of flavour, care, and nourishment, and the masala dosa was absolutely incredible—yummy, comforting, and deeply satisfying. This meal truly felt like peace on the plate—kind to the palate, the planet, and the soul. It didn’t just feel like food; it felt like medicine, the kind that restores you gently from the inside out. What made it even more special was being served by an all-female team today. The energy was warm, loving, and welcoming—like being fed in a family home rather than a restaurant. I genuinely felt the love in every dish. Thank you, Dosa Express, for creating food that nourishes beyond the physical. I’ll be back, heart full and soul grateful 🙏✨
7/10. B Tier spot. The unlimited food option for 29 dollars is the only thing that's worth getting. Otherwise this place isnt just it. Some of the things in the menu was delicious, otherwise 16 dollars for one Dosa is crazy. Get a fat feed for 29 bucks instead
Ordered takeaway looking forward to vada sambar however they arrived completely soggy, mushy and falling apart. Not crispy and not as described or shown in photos attached. Leaked into the takeaway bag. Everything else we got - masala dosa was good and packaged well. There should be a better way of packing this in the future. We couldn't eat them that's $18 wasted.
The culinary experience was enjoyable. However, the service time was notably extended, with an approximate 40-45 minute wait for our order. Furthermore, the lighting conditions were suboptimal. It is recommended that restaurants maintain an ambient, well-lit environment to enhance the dining experience.
Before my review, this Indian restaurant had 1,589 reviews, with most of them leaning toward a 5-star rating. From my personal dining experience, however, I feel it did not quite reach the five-star standard. I would like to share my feedback as follows: The menu provides an impressive variety of options, which is commendable. However, since there were no photos to accompany the dishes, I found it a little difficult to navigate. The menu presentation itself could also be more refined, and I noticed some traces of food left from previous guests. As someone with a background in hospitality, I feel these details could be improved to better reflect professional standards. Based on the staff’s recommendation, I ordered the Vada Sambar and Masala Dosa. The food was enjoyable and satisfying, though it did not particularly leave a lasting impression that would strongly encourage me to return. It was good, but not extraordinary. That being said, I truly appreciate the fact that this restaurant in Perth offers Indian food until midnight and provides such a wide variety of vegetarian options, which is an excellent contribution for the vegetarian community. The interior décor appears to still be in progress, and I look forward to seeing how the restaurant develops in creating an even more welcoming dining atmosphere.
