Always a treat at IHD. Best place in town. Here are some of the highlights over the past decade that Iโve dined here. The fellas never fail to disappoint
First curry kebab Iโve tried and undoubtedly the first of many to come! Great range of curry sauces and combinations to choose from, and generous serving size. Highly recommend the chicken tikka masala Service was friendly and speedy, and the shop was open late. Only wish they opened earlier in the day! Classic shop layout, no chairs though. But tasty enough to finish standing up of course
Tried my first Imdian kebab. Wow what a tasty treat that was, I went with the onion option and butter chicken curry sauce. I recommend this to everyone who loves a curry. Great friendly service, inexpensive and top notch freshness. Do try it...
This has to be the worst Indian food I have ever had. The naan was clearly not fresh. The butter chicken and lamb roghan josh were so watered down they were practically flavourless, a sad excuse for dishes that are meant to be rich and bold. But the biggest crime of all was the mango lassi. What turned up was basically mango-flavoured water. We ended up stirring in spoonfuls of yoghurt from our own fridge just to make it resemble anything close to a real lassi. It is obvious the chef takes no pride in the food. Every dish felt like it was deliberately stretched thin rather than prepared with care. For a cuisine that should be bursting with spices, this was nothing but a watery disappointment. If it was cheap, maybe it could be forgiven. But the prices are high. I will never order from here again and I strongly recommend the owners rethink their entire approach. They need to start valuing customers and quality food instead of cutting corners and chasing the bottom line.
This thing blew my mind! I wasnโt expecting much for an Indian kebab but itโs quite literally what it was. The texture and flavour was quite rounded and there perfect amount of food youโd want from a kebab. It probably serves as a good drunken meal. You get to choose your curry and the option between potato bhaji and an onion one. Parking is quite limited there. Definitely worth a visit if youโre in the Paddington area
