You should be ashamed to serve a dosa this way. The rasam could not be diluted any further and the potatoes were flavourless inside. Dosa was perfect buy look at the messy presentation. We dont go to an indian restaurent cause its cheap we go for a burst of flavour.
Unfortunately the service here was terrible. The first entree came out, was eaten, then the next came out and we had to ask for the third to be brought out, which also came with one of the first main courses. Had to ask again where one of the naan breads was as we had waited too long. Had to constantly ask for more water and other drinks. Majority of the food was ok/good.. apart from the vegan butter chicken. Absolutely disgusting. Tasted like plastic. Such a shame after reading so many good reviews about this place. Would definitely recommend staying away from this place
I ordered Hakka noodles, paneer lababdar, and naan. The Hakka noodles were good in taste, but the paneer lababdar was below average. I asked a counter guy to give me chopped onion, and he gave me a bowl of chopped onions, but there was an insect, as you can see in the picture. The ambiance and location are good, but the taste is not worth visiting again.
Masala Kitchen surprised me in a good way. The place has strong visual vibes. Neon signs, colourful walls and Bollywood pop art make the restaurant feel fun and energetic. It gets busy and loud, but that adds to the casual atmosphere. We ordered pani puri, samosa chaat, a lamb curry and garlic naan. The pani puri was a standout. The little jars of tamarind and mint water made it feel interactive and each bite was crisp and refreshing. The samosa chaat had a nice balance of yoghurt, chutneys and crunch. Flavour hits sweet, tangy and spicy all at once. The curry was rich and well seasoned. The spice level was comfortable rather than overwhelming. The naan was soft and fresh, good for scooping up the sauce. Service was quick considering how packed the place was. Food came out with good timing and plates were cleared between dishes. It seems like a place that would work for casual dinners or group outings. Prices are slightly above average for Indian street food style dishes, but the presentation and atmosphere make it feel worth it.
Today I visited the Surry Hills branch for lunch and had a wonderful experience! All the dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious ๐. A special thanks to Ashwin for catering the ร la carte menu during lunchtime โ even though they usually have a separate lunch menu, he made it possible on a super busy afternoon. Truly appreciated! โบ๏ธ
