Royal Indian Restobar, Newcastle truly lives up to its name. The interior is stunning, a palace-style dining experience with rich décor, elegant lighting, and a very premium ambience that instantly sets the mood. Service was excellent throughout the visit: attentive, polite, and well-paced, making the overall experience feel special rather than rushed. Coming to the food - easily 9/10. The flavours were well-balanced, presentation was on point, and the menu has all the classic favourites, done really well. The only reason it doesn’t get a perfect score is the Prawn Burada, which leaned more on the sweeter side for my taste. Less sweetness would have taken it straight to 10/10. Overall, a fantastic dining spot in Newcastle for anyone looking for royal ambience, great service, and quality Indian cuisine. Definitely worth a visit.
Spectacular restaurant and atmosphere, looks like a royal indian Palace. Food was very tasty, I enjoyed the gold starter platter with lamb chops, kebabs and other meats and then we got the butter chicken and pepper chicken curries with nun bread. Everything was excellent and service was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend and we'll certainly be back!
This place is awesome!! The atmosphere and decor is so fun. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Thank you so much for catering to many dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free. Everyone I’ve brought here is blown away by the interior and then again by the food. Everything is presented so beautifully and portions are surprisingly large - one main per person has always left us with leftovers for lunch the next day. All the staff are very professional, knowledgeable and so lovely. There’s a big carpark out the back too so never have to worry about parking. Thank you!! 💖
The food was little disappointing and not what we came here for as per it’s reputation & reviews seen here! We ordered goat curry, but it was not as soft or tender as expected, especially for the price we are paying we expected atleast made better than we can cook at home. Moreover the person who eats goat mentioned it felt like lamb since first bite till last and there was a hair as well in goat that we showed to staff . At the end when we mentioned to manager (Mani) during payment - he rudely said that it might be anyone’s hair, and was very rude. Not a good customer service considering he is manager. The spicy paneer was also confusing as it tasted mildly sweet, which didn’t match the dish description at all. Portion sizes were quite small . That said, the girl who served us was decent, soft spoken, polite and attentive. Her service was nice, but the food quality and flavours really need improvement. Even paying the price is not an issue considering we want experience, but not good experience at all. The manager MANI is really really rude, he needs to work on his communication, tone, attitude and customer service. Would never like to visit, and won’t actually personally recommend my friends specially here!
A Dazzling Dining Experience That Delivers on Every Level From the moment you step into this opulent gem in Newcastle West, you know you’re in for something special. The interior is a feast for the eyes—dripping in gold, intricate patterns, and dramatic chandeliers that wouldn’t be out of place in a palace. It’s bold, glitzy, and unapologetically fabulous. But the real star is the food. Every dish i ordered was bursting with authentic flavour and beautifully presented. The Chicken Tikka arrived sizzling hot, smoky and tender with a punchy marinade that lingered in the best way. The Onion Bhaji were perfectly crisp and paired with a cool, refreshing mint sauce that balanced the spices beautifully. The Beef Vindaloo was an absolute standout, rich, complex, and with just the right amount of heat. Paired with fluffy saffron basmati rice, it was deeply satisfying and clearly made with care. Even the sparkling water came in elegant glass bottles, adding to the premium experience. Service was warm and attentive, and despite the luxe setting, the pricing was incredibly reasonable for the quality of both food and atmosphere. This place isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. Whether you’re after a romantic dinner, a celebration, or just dining alone and love being surrounded by lavish decor and top-tier Indian cuisine, this spot is a must-visit.
