We had tandoori prawns for entree Makhan chicken.Gulab jamun.Wow great service , food so fresh.Got our money's worth
Visited Tandoor and Curry House, Hobart with a group of four and spent almost $200. For indians its not worth. They are serving other Aussies not us. We arrived at 8:46 pm and ordered two entrรฉes, which came out on time and were fine. However, the main courses didnโt arrive until after 10:15 pm, which is completely unacceptable. The wait was ridiculously long with no proper explanation or apology. The service was pathetic, and unfortunately the food was just as bad when it finally arrived. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences Iโve ever had โ terrible service and disappointing food. Definitely not worth the money or the wait.
Absolutely disgraceful experience at Tandoor and Curry House, Hobart. A group of four people spent nearly $200 and received shockingly bad service and food in return. We arrived at 8:46 pm and ordered two entrรฉes, which came out on time. That was the only acceptable part of the night. The main courses did not arrive until after 10:15 pm โ an unacceptable, ridiculous wait with zero communication, zero apology, and zero accountability from staff. The service was beyond pathetic โ careless, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful of customersโ time. When the food finally arrived, it was not even worth the wait. The quality was poor, disappointing, and honestly some of the worst Indian food Iโve ever had. Spending this much money to be treated like this is embarrassing for a restaurant. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences Iโve had, and I would never return or recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs โ overpriced, painfully slow, and utterly terrible.
We ordered a couple of different biryanis. The taste was okay, nothing special. Service was quite slow, which was disappointing. What was really shocking was the pricing โ the biryani was already expensive over 30 bucks each, and when we asked for the curd that usually comes with it, we were told it had to be purchased separately. Overall, it felt too pricey for the experience. Average food and slow service donโt really justify the cost. (After receiving a response from the restaurant, I went back and carefully worked out the charges, as we were only given an EFTPOS receipt and not a detailed bill. The total amount paid was $91.50. This included 3 parathas at $6.50 each ($19.50), 1 mango lassi at $7.50, and 2 takeaway containers at $1.50 each ($3.00). That brings the non-biryani items to $30.00, leaving $61.50 charged for the biryanis. Since we ordered two biryanis, this works out to $30.75 per biryani. To be fair, the biryani serve was a little generous. However, the taste was just okay, nothing standout. Service felt slow from our perspective. It was also disappointing to learn that the curd, which usually comes with biryani, was not included and had to be paid. Overall, it still felt too pricey for the experience, which is why Iโm giving a 3-star rating.)
Weโve been regular customers of Tandoor for over 10 years, and even though weโve tried other Indian restaurants, we always end up coming back here. The food is consistently delicious โ their veggie korma is one of our all-time favourites, and the naans are hands down the biggest and best weโve had anywhere in Australia! Even with the recent price increases, we still visit as often as we can. They were always incredible value, and now their prices simply match the quality and other restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!
