I visited The Black Prince Pub & Restaurant on a very busy Saturday night, and I was genuinely impressed with how smooth and effortless the reservation process was. Even with the crowd and weekend rush, the team handled everything with total professionalism—quick confirmation, warm welcome, and our table was ready right on time. The food was on another level—easily some of the best British-Indian flavours in the city. Every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with authentic taste.

Undoubtedly my favourite place for a Saturday night. Live accoustic Bollywood music by Param is unmatched. The man starts after 8 and sings for almost two hours. Worth every minute. Seating is well spaced so the place doesn't feel crowded even when it's busy. Service is top notch and the manager is incredibly welcoming. Drinks are reasonably priced and it's one of the few places that offers patialas! If you're feeling nostalgic or simply want to spend the evening listening to live Bollywood music while having a few drinks, this is definitely the place to be. Highly recommended!

My wife and I went for Saturday Night Dinner and Live music session. It was recommended to book the table prior as usually they get booked quite quickly on weekends. The service was really good, staff were nice and accommodating. They also offered us more comfortable seatings while we preferred to sit in front of the bar. Music started around 8:45 pm due to first timer artists. We ordered Soya malai chaap which was cooked to perfection, soft and tender, however it should have been more saucy. Amritsari fish was really nice as it was big chunks and coating was flavorful. My wife ordered her all time favorite dal makhni with Jeera rice, it ticked all our boxes and one of the best Dal makhni had in Melbourne. I ordered Butter chicken which was not a regular sweet sugary sauce, it was actually flavorful, a bit spicier as I requested. For deserts we had Gulab Jamun with Rabri, it was yummy because we thought it was Haldiram’s and not made in store. Overall it was a great experience and they deserve 5 start review.

I Love Food and I know Food. Hi guys I had the opportunity to visit this resturant with friends on a busy night. I must say the ambiance and vibe of this restaurant is great. Staff is welcoming and good as well. Even though we had a booking we still had to wait a bit before being seated. The live music/singer is amazing and seeing people join the singing really enhances the evening and the mood. We ordered Aloo tikki chat, ×2 Amritsari fish, Paneer tikka, chicken tikka and lamb cuttlets. In Mains we ordered dal makhni, Kadahi chicken and naans. The food is great, Aloo tikka chat was great, Amritsari fish was amazing hence ended up ordering it again, Paneer tikka was soft and full of flavor, chicken tikka was good but could have been better in terms with flavor and spice level, lamb cuttlets didn't hit the mark they were bit chewy and lacked flavor. Dal makhni was really good, kadahi chicken was good but could have been better, Naan breads were good as well. Overall I would like to give 4.5 out of 5 stars but there is no option to do so. I would definitely be coming back to this restaurant and if you live in Melbourne cbd or around surrounding suburbs or even if you have travel a bit, you should, you won't be disappointed. I recommend giving this restaurant a go. 👌👍

We had a wonderful experience at this British pub. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was equally impressive despite the restaurant being packed and clearly short-staffed, every member of the team served with a genuine smile. A big credit to the staff for managing so well under pressure. That said, management could definitely improve planning for busy nights like Fridays. With better staffing, the experience would have been flawless. Overall, highly recommend for the food, warm service, and lively vibe, just be prepared for a bit of a wait on peak nights.
